School Safety & Security

Ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff is paramount at St. Anthony’s. We believe in maintaining a conducive environment for learning, free from potential threats and disturbances. To achieve this, we have implemented a comprehensive safety and security protocol comprising of a clear backpack policy, audio and video security surveillance, and the presence of security personnel on campus.

Clear Backpack Policy:

  • All students are required to use clear backpacks while on campus premises. This policy enables quick visual inspection of backpack contents, helping to prevent unauthorized items from entering the school.
  • Additionally, transparent backpacks promote transparency and discourage the concealment of
prohibited items, thereby enhancing overall safety and security.
  • In addition to preventing serious security threats, the clear backpack requirement promotes accountability among students. With personal belongings in plain sight, students are less likely to engage in theft, vaping or other types of misconduct. The transparency fosters an environment where students are aware that their actions are observable, thereby encouraging responsible behavior and fostering a safer school community.
  • Clear backpacks are available on campus for $15.00.

Audio and Video Security Cameras:

  • St. Anthony’s is equipped with a network of high-definition audio and video surveillance cameras strategically positioned throughout the campus.
  • These cameras provide continuous monitoring of key areas including entrances, hallways, and
    classrooms.
  • The surveillance system serves as a deterrent to potential threats and aids in the rapid identification and response to security incidents. Additionally, it allows for accountability of our staff and students in their daily involvement.
  • Recordings from the cameras are securely stored and accessible to authorized personnel for investigative purposes, ensuring accountability and transparency.

Security Personnel Presence:

  • Security personnel are stationed on campus during school hours to maintain a visible and proactive security presence.
  • Security personnel are responsible for monitoring the premises, enforcing school policies, and responding swiftly to any security concerns or emergencies.
  • They work closely with school administrators, faculty, and local law enforcement agencies to
implement safety protocols and coordinate emergency responses.

Emergency Response Plan:

  • St. Anthony’s has a comprehensive emergency response plan in place to address various scenarios, including but not limited to natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security threats.
  • Students, faculty, and staff are regularly trained on emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
  • The emergency response plan is regularly reviewed and updated to adapt to changing circumstances and emerging threats.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • We at St. Anthony’s collaborate closely with parents, students, staff, and community members to foster a culture of safety and vigilance.
  • Open communication channels are maintained to report any safety concerns or suspicious activities promptly.
  • Regular meetings are conducted to discuss safety initiatives, address concerns, and solicit feedback.

At St. Anthony’s, the safety and security of our school community are non-negotiable. Through the implementation of clear backpack policies, audio and video security surveillance, and the presence of security personnel on campus, we strive to create a secure learning environment where every individual can thrive. We remain committed to continuously enhancing our safety measures and working collaboratively with everyone to ensure the well-being of everyone within our school walls.
